Lone Star Relics

               Lone Star Relics

What good is a guitar that "looks" vintage if it doesn't sound and feel like a great vintage guitar ? The moment you take a great old Tele into your hands, something special happens. It's like that old pair of your favorite jeans...everything just "feels" right.

Having owned, bought, sold, and traded literally thousands of vintage guitars, I decided to pay tribute to these fine instruments  by creating guitars "inspired" by them. My 30 years of guitar building experience coupled with my love of art and attention to detail make these Lone Star Relics some of the finest money can buy. I use only the finest parts and apply finishes that are one part "Old World Violin" technique, one part "Vintage Guitar" technique. I spend literally hours fine tuning the shape of the neck, hand rubbing the finish for a nice, worn in feel. I use pickups by Lindy Fralin, Jason Lollar, and soon, my own custom vintage winds.  The result is a truly spectacular instrument.

                                   The Ranchero

I've always loved the early Fender Telecasters, Esquires, "Nocasters", and Broadcasters ... especially when the paint starts flaking off. They just get this great look that seems to tell the hard tales of where it's been... the smoky bars, juke joints, and chicken shacks, spreading the message of "Twang" everywhere they go. Not all old Fenders had the faulty finish that flaked off, but the ones that did are some of my favorites.

This one features a solid alder body, hand shaped and rubbed Allparts neck, Fender Bigsby, Lindy Fralin pickups, bakelite pickguard, NOS Goodall "paper in oil" tone cap, CTS pots, and about 2 tons of mojo. Born to twang, and has it in spades !

            Pinecaster Custom

This one combines the sweet sound and amazing look of knotty pine with a hand rubbed rosewood board neck, Barden compensated saddles, Lawrence pickups and Kluson tuners. Tone to die for...sweet twang with a pristine (not harsh) top end, and lots of punch. Really a special guitar !
